Our company

GPS Powder Food Manufacturing Ltd. was launched in 1991 in order to introduce and establish the vacuum-drying process in the Hungarian food processing industry.

By means of studying and using the scientific legacy and patents of Pap László (PhD) food chemist and researcher, we have developed and modified our vacuum-drying technology that is used currently. In January 2003 production was started in our new factory where we manufacture our products by using the most recent, automated, process controlled technology. Our present production capacity is 40 000 kg/year. Our product line replaces the expensive lyophilized products and the hardly cheaper fruit powders that bear low biological value, contain artificial additives and are dried at high temperature, both of which are used as raw materials and colouring agents in the food industry.

The price of our products is considerably lower than that of the similar products due to the automated, cost effective technology and low labour costs.

Our revenue and market presence have been growing from year to year both in the domestic and the foreign markets.

Products

Practically every fruit and vegetable or the juices and the concentrates gained from them can be pulverised by vacuum-drying. By processing the first-rate bio and natural raw materials that are available in large amount during the production of the fruit and vegetable powders, it is possible to manufacture biologically valuable products.

Due to the special vacuum-drying process developed by our company, the original ingredients that are responsible for taste, flavour, aroma and colour are preserved in a concentrated form similarly to the vitamins, the macro- and microelements and most of the biologically active components. No artificial, synthetic additives, colouring agents or preservatives are used during the manufacturing. 

Our latest product family is Drink Powders as a Health Food that are made from vegetables and fruit bearing significant curative powers according to a unique recipe. Their consumption can be recommended to cure or prevent various diseases according to the data of scientific publications.

Technology

The automated process controlled vacuum-drying technology that is being applied in our factory and has been developed based on our own know-how has several advantages to offer compared to the freeze-drying, spray-drying and drum-drying processes. It is an important characteristic of vacuum-drying that it provides a highly effective method for the complete dehydration mainly of food products, raw materials for pharmaceuticals and biological products that are sensitive to heat and oxidisation. The dehydration occurs at a low temperature so the compounds that are sensitive to heat such as vitamins, various flavonoids and ingredients responsible for taste, aroma and colour are wholly preserved. The products keep their quality for 2 years. The technology enables our company to work according to a flexible production schedule and to react quickly to the demands incurred. Our factory operates in the HACCP quality control system.

Innovation

The 30 different products of our company are produced according to unique recipes that are prepared and continuously developed in our laboratories based on consumers’ demands. In the case of the development of the Health Preserver Drink Powders it is an important consideration that the proportion of the components has to be worked out to yield appropriate taste as well as physiological effects. Our work of development is very complex; we mainly focus on the expansion of our present product line and the invention of new recipes in line with the improvement of the manufacturing technologies of the so-called Functional food products. Moreover, experiments are being conducted in order to produce on an industrial scale granulated products and vacuum-dried powders that are made from biotechnologically modified concentrates containing small amount of fibre. Experts from university laboratories and research institutes cooperate in the research work. According to the demands of the different fields of food industry our company carries out mutual product development projects together with companies from the milk and the confectionery industry.
